Some things to know....

Because I like transparency, I am putting together a Frequently Asked Questions section to try to anticipate anything that you may need or question about the birthday spectacular.

All in all my goal is for everyone to have a great time, relaxing and just being together in a family-friend friendly environment.

FAQs

What will be paid for and what will not?

Great question mom.

Things that are paid for or provided:

  • Accommodations if you are staying at Liney Moon

  • Large food expenses (pizza, dinners, catered events, cake, wine during wine tasting)

  • Entrance into events (the Alamo, lazy river, etc.)

Things that are NOT paid for:

  • Accommodations if you are staying off site

  • Personal foods or snacks that are kept in your private room or other location

  • Airfare to Austin, Texas

  • Transportation to and from Dripping Springs area

Do I have to come to everything or be there all days?

NO! I have specifically made this birthday to be flexible and work out to be a very malleable experience for everyone involved.  You do not have to do anything that you don't want to do and can relax at the retreat for the entire weekend, sipping wine, and sitting by the pool or you can participate in everything - your choice! I just ask, if you want to participate, that you sign up for each of the events and activities so we can have an accurate headcount and how many we need to plan to accommodate.

With regards to days - the only day that you likely do NOT want to miss is Monday, April 8 for the birthday celebration and total solar eclipse.  Other than that - dealer's choice.

If you are interested in having your own exploration of Austin - you likely can't go wrong by checking out some of these options HERE.

What do you mean a talent show or roast?

The goal is to have fun this weekend - so what better way than to get a chance to show off some personal talent.  Can you sing? Can you play piano or keyboard? Are you gonna throw down a sea shanty dedicated to me - your friend who is turning 40?  This is your chance!

It is also a chance for some of our younger guests to get a chance to have fun on stage with their parents - maybe it is going to be a chance to put together a family rendition of a Disney tune or a skit to bring a family together.  Whatever it is, I would love to share the stage with everyone.  I am planning on a few special things myself - so stay tuned!

Transportation - what's the deal?

You will likely need to get to the Liney Moon - but from there, I am trying to cover the majority of the transportation needs.  Of course, if you would like to drive yourself to the events - you are more than welcome to do that.  If you are interested in being a DD or driving - let me know!

I have also created a google doc that will track arrivals and departures if people would like to share care rentals, etc.  You can find that information HERE.

Is this going to be kid friendly?

Ummm... Have you met me? I am basically a big kid and just because I am entering into the fifth decade of my life (oofff that hurt just to think) that definitely doesn't mean I don't have people in their first or second decades of life in mind.  From Disney and yard games, pool party and water balloons - I think I have an idea of some fun things for some of our younger guests.  I am always looking for more ideas - so if you've got any, please LET ME KNOW and we can organize something for not just your tykes, but for everyone else's padawans.  The force is strong in the younglings and should be cultivated and nurtured.

Any other questions?

As always, you can contact me personally to ask something that isn't found on this site.
